What a joyful week it has been! I am having a hard time coming up with words that capture how sweet it is to have this new baby in our family, but I gave birth a couple days ago, so I won't hold a little writer's block against myself. What are pictures for, anyway? Meet Merrick Brunsdale Forbes! This one's right before Drew went home in the morning to relieve our babysitter

Meeting the siblings
I love Annie's face in this video. She is fascinated!
Rafe seemed like he couldn't care less at the hospital.
But, the next morning he woke up and came into my room to lay down next to me and the baby for a bit and said, "Mom, I love baby Merrick. And when he is older we will play boy games together."

Exploring the new human
We were truly fortunate to have Nana, Coco, and Rex fly out to stay with us for a few days. They were invaluable help in keeping all the bigger littles entertained.
They went on outings to the pool, and one of the days even drove out to Scenic Beach Park.
Since they have gone, we have had to update our iPad with more interesting games.
And I am grateful every day for the jungle gym in the house.
Getting a little outside time on the porch. Our ward has been so kind and supportive and lots of people have brought us meals, but as they've walked up to drop them off it made me realize that anyone standing in the street at a certain angle or on our porch has a perfect view of our couch family room, where I am often to be found breast feeding or napping.
I put up some film I found on Amazon that uses static to stay in place. It's awesome. And when the sun shines on it it makes rainbows in the hallway that the kids like to play in.
