Best Friends for Vivien

Pippa

This week we spent a lot of time with our friends the Crofts; they were in CA last week visiting family and we missed them!  Vivi and Pippa remind me of some characters in a set of board books my friend gave us at Rafe's shower (Drew and I will both admit to reading the books when Vivien's not around--they're really cute).

Pippa turns 2 at the end of June, so they're only a couple months apart and are therefore learning a lot of the same things.  The nursery leaders tell us that both girls are happier when the other is there, and that they play with each other the whole time.  They are funny little friends.

Meadowbrook Park

They like to explore the park together, but Vivi's quite the climber so sometimes she leaves Pippa in the dust.  After awhile she'll realize Pippa isn't with her anymore and start looking around calling "Pippa?  Pippa?"
Daddy

Drew takes airplane to a whole new level.  Once she's flying, he tickles her with his toes and she LOVES it!
She and Daddy got to go on a hike with the YM and YW this week.  They were gone all day.  I missed them, but it was nice to have some one on one time with Rafe.  Especially since he mostly sleeps.  Nap time is hard to come by for moms when Vivien is around!

This is becoming a daily ritual.  Vivi will start eating dinner in her high chair, then about 5 minutes in she starts pushing all her food across the table towards Drew so she can sit on his lap and keep eating.  She loves her Daddy!

Rafe

This reminded me of sitting in the back seat of the 15 passenger van on a bumpy road.

Ok, so maybe Rafe isn't the best friend yet because he mostly sleeps or cries or just lays there, but she certainly likes him (most of the time).  She likes to say "Hi Rafe!" when he opens his eyes.

She shows him what's in all the cupboards while Mom's trying to make dinner.
She steals his binky so often that he's learning to hold onto it while he's asleep . . .
. . . even if he's not using it.
Someday I'll get a picture of the two of them when they're both making a cute face.  This is not that day, but I thought you might like to see them together anyway.

Herself

She's been especially fond of her knit sweater this week.  And taking off her pants.  And her diaper.
Trying on Mom's shoes
Looking for a blackberry
Tucking herself into her 4 poster bed
Waking up from a nap in her nest.  Sleeping has been going better this week--I think she actually slept during her quiet time three out of the seven days, and she's woken up happy in the morning (instead of crying) more this week too.  Just in time for vacation . . .
Singing to herself.

  1. Very cute Sabrina! I just understood your title "Best Friends for Vivien" and I thought, how very clever is my sister. Does Vivien read Francis books? I hope so because they're the best! Good luck with your trip to Utah. I wish I could be there to give you and your kiddies a squeeze.

    1. Did she get new clothes since I was there. Because you asked me to get her a change of clothes and none of those were there. They are so cute, the clothes and the kids! I am super excited to see you!
