Halloween Happenings

Vivien was very excited about the whole costume thing this year--her costume AND Rafe's costume.  He didn't mind sharing.
And Vivien thanked him for his generosity with a sisterly hug.
He's far more interested in food anyway.  He's really taken off eating this week.  His gag reflex isn't quite as spectacular as Vivien's was, but he's handling bread and chunks of pears and peas and spaghetti squash etc. like a champ.  Vivien insisted he wear his hood.
Vivien would like it to be noted that she also eats.  Can't give the baby too much attention in her presence. . .
Here's our Halloween fare.  I made shortbread fingers with peanut nails.  They were ok.  Nobody would eat them though because they looked too gross.  Except Vivien.  She ate a whole hand.

My mom made bloody brains (cauliflower and beets).  Rex wouldn't touch it because it made him feel sick.

And what would Halloween be without hot dog mummies?  My mom also did Witchy Potatoes.  Green pepper mouth, serrano chili nose, tomatoes and olives for eyes, and blue corn chips for a hat.  It was fun!
After dinner we got suited up for candy collecting.
Sarah and Ronnie came with us.  She was Snow and I was Mary Margaret.  "We are both!"
We went to a grand total of 5 houses (including Nana's).  Vivi didn't know any different, so she was pleased with her conquest.  She liked to point out the Halloween decorations on everyone's porch and was particularly fascinated with any monsters displayed.
We had to warm them up after with a nice bath.  Rafe has joined the sitter-uppers, but it's still slippery so I have to have CONSTANT VIGILANCE.
Vivi's been working off her sugar high today running and climbing and jumping around the house.  Rafe is trying his best to keep up and I am trying my best to keep him from getting injured in the little girl's wake.

Little does he know how many times he's been in harms way . . . Vivi refuses to let him sit in the exersaucer unmolested.
I'm sure he's grateful for my efforts.
